Welcome!

Thank you so much for joining us! Our theme for this concert is "Woodland", a word that evokes both whimsy and depth. I hope you'll find plenty of each in our musical selections today!

As we  near the end of 2019, I take a moment to reflect on how far Shine has come in the last 10 years since it was founded. I started Shine with the idea of creating an independent children's chorus that would be accessible and modern, with a healthy social culture. As we've added more programs, I've stayed true to this initial vision, and it has been fortified by the singers and families who have come back year after year, making Shine a positive fixture in the Portland community. This year, we took the big step of becoming a stand-alone non-profit organization-- a huge boost to our potential to offer scholarships and keep Shine alive far into the future! If you believe in the work we are doing, please consider making a donation to our program!

On behalf of all of our singers, thank you for coming to our show, and we hope you enjoy!

Sincerely,
Lauren Fitzgerald, Founder + Executive/Artistic Director

P.S. We are proud of our paperless concert program! At the same time, if you'd like to have a paper program to save as a keepsake, you can download a printer-friendly PDF here.
